The Counselor A Screenplay, first English and first hardback edition
Picador, London, 2013
First English and first hardcover edition, first printing with full number line on the copyright page (“1 3 5 7 9 8 6 4 2”). Hardcover, 22.3 x 14.2 cm, 184 numbered pages. Publisher’s black cloth lettered in gilt on the spine. Dustjacket by David Pearson with dark yellow spine and flaps, lettered in black, white, and dark yellow. Price of £14.99 on the front flap. The back panel features the same praise appeared on The Sunset Limited first English edition dust jacket three years earlier: two for Cormac McCarthy by Daily Telegraph and Esquire, three for The Road by Andrew O’Hagan, Tom Gatti, The Times, and Alan Warner, Guardian. Black endpapers.
CONDITION: near fine book in a near fine dustjacket.
Published on December 9, 2013, at £14.99, in a first print run of 5,043 copies.
The source of the date of publication and the number of copies printed is the Picador archive.
COLLECTING TOPICS: unsigned copies are common. However, finding a truly fine copy can be a bit challenging as the high humidity level in England often causes the waving of the text block. As for genuinely signed or inscribed copies, I have not seen any of them.
