First edition, first printing with full number line (10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1) on the copyright page. Softcover, 20.5 x 13.2 cm, 184 numbered pages. Paperback original in glossy pictorial black wrappers lettered in white, featuring photos of Michael Fassbinder, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt on the front cover which reads above the title: “Now a major motion picture”. Price “U.S. $14.95 Can. $ 16.95” on the back cover.

CONDITION: unread, fine copy.

Published on October 15, 2013, at $14.95, in a first print run of possibly 30,000 copies. 


The book was published to coincide with the release of the movie directed by Ridley Scott and starring Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbinder, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz and Javier Bardem. After a preview in London on October, 3, it premiered October, 25 in the United States and November, 15 in the United Kingdom.

Diana Tindell, longtime editor at Vintage, kindly suggested to me that in spite of the announced first print was 50,000 copies, the actual amount printed was probably closer to 30,000, guessing from initial orders.
